Cryptosphere (Cryptocurrency Sphere) - Olusegun Oyekanmi

    Introduction

THE world of crypto has come a long way since the arrival of Bitcoin in 2009. Those who caught the drift at that time will remember when there were almost no resources to help gain an understanding of this new industry. Some will remember when those with no understanding called it a fad and a play thing for the nerds. People who said this back then were probably the same people who said the same about the Internet.

From the hard fork of Bitcoin to altcoins such as Litecoin to the freshly created cryptocurrencies such as Waves with its own DEX (Decentralized Exchange) can only mean one thing, the continued growth of cryptocurrency environment.

This book is part of the process of growth albeit miniscule. This book is merely the gathering of some online crypto sources and making people aware of them. Some of these resources are not new while some are. Others are completely obscure while others are known by a few. As much as cryptocurrencies are talked about today, it may surprise some that those participating in this industry can still be considered pioneers. It is still a while away before there is widespread acceptance. And between now and then, there will be massive changes with new ideas coming to the forefront of this exciting industry.

It is hoped that this book as said earlier will help in some small measure those who are already on this journey or just getting started. In truth, due to the rapid changes taking place in the industry, no book on cryptos can ever be finished nor will it bring about complete satisfaction. Let us just say this is the beginning with more to come in the future.

    Chapter 1 - Books

    ––––––––

ONE of the best ways to be educated in matters crypto are books. There is a whole plethora of books on the market today. As we all can expect, some of these books are just plain rubbish, some extremely verbose, and then there are the gems. We must not forget that the creation of cryptocurrencies stemmed from the lack of satisfaction with current fiat financial system. Because of this, recommended books will be of 2 types:

    Cryptocurrency, blockchain, and fintech books

Non-crypto books such as books on money creation and the current fiat financial system

Some of you may ask why has this been done. The reason is quite simple, most people cannot even tell you how money was created. To understand cryptocurrencies, you must understand how money was created and the genesis to digital money.

The best way to be of service is to ensure that the books mentioned are those of the most use and the least verbose. Some of them may be a bit dated, but none the less very helpful in ensuring your understanding of the subject matter. With the list of books below, it is hoped that this is the case. The links have also been included to allow to read reviews and comments of all these boos, which may help in making your purchases.

You will notice that there is no review of any of the books, this is deliberate. There are far too many books to review and not all will meet the tastes of the readers. You will have to do a lot of due diligence

FINANCIAL AND MONEY CREATION, AND TRADING BOOKS

Quoting the words of Michael N. Kahn from his book Technical Analysis Plain and SimpleYou need to be humble because the market is a lot bigger than you.  You cannot tell the market what to do, even if it is wrong by all measures. It can hold a losing position a lot longer than you or even your country’s central bank can. What you want to do is listen to the market. It will tell you where it is going, so you can jump on for the ride.

As Michael also said in the book, With technical analysis, the worst case is a bad trade from a false breakout.  Humility allows you to acknowledge your error immediately and cut your losses.  At its best, technical analysis will never let you miss a big move.

Without putting too fine a point, the reason you risk your hard-earned money is to earn more money! This is something that no investor must forget. It sounds hard to some, but that is the truth. It is for this reason (and others) that this section is present in the book.
